Wow beautiful bars!
Good ol' PM 1oz buttons. Fine vs 9999 Fine. Can anyone here enlighten which design is older?
The one that says 1oz fine is older I’m sure there from mid 70s
Thanks for the insight!
Anybody know the origins of this gold bar? It says AC & B
Early AGR Matthey one once
Nice! Interested. Wonder how's the reverse looked like
Australian Coin & Bullion
Lonsdale st Melb. & Collins st. Melton, Vic.
Around 15g of Thai gold.
Bought this at last Sydney meet. Can anyone tell me the maker? Only has 1oz weight stamp on reverse. Reverse image google searches come up with nothing.
I think it's a Humboldt gold bar!
Yes it is a Humbolt bar. The W & R are the initials of the maker
Humboldt in CA, USA? or is Humboldt a brand too? It does look like a bear print, so a Californian brand sounds right. Do you know that the W & R stands for? a partnership name initials perhaps?
It is the bar makers initials. He also refines the gold. He is based in Qld. Humbolt is the makers user name on this forum.
Ah. Steve wrote it like the CA county spelling with the "d". Put me off. So local maker, on the forum. Sweet. Cheers.
Oh, and there is something wrong with the serial on the left bar..
It's a mule plate mate.. the '4' and the last digit.. epic
Unfortunately had to sell one of these here on the site a few months ago. I got mine without assay though
