I have the opportunity to purchase a 1989 50c Jubilee Proof.

The problem I have is I actually want the RAM Masterpieces in Silver (MIS, 92.5 Ag) not a UNC Proof. From what I can tell the 1989 MIS set of 50c pieces was produced in 1988 but marked '89. The only sets RAM actualy produced in '89 were the mint sets, no MIS.

This coin is listed as UNC Proof and omits any reference to the MIS set or composition.

Was the Jubilee 50c produced as a Nickel UNC Proof in 1989, or are the only 50c Jubilee proofs stamped 1989 from the MIS sets.

If both were produced how can one tell them appart (mint marks etc) without resorting to XRF analyser or destructive testing

    Cheers.
