I've found what looks to be some cheap 1oz s2 mice and I was thinking about buying a few and selling them in the forum to defray shipping costs (shipping for one is like $12 but around $20 for 3 and so on). I just wanted to double check what a reasonable price was before I bought a half roll. Also curious what a fair price for 2oz tigers was. I saw a couple sealed rolls at a little over $130 a coin and thought it was pretty good so I bought them all and thought I would keep a roll and sell the rest of the coins but it seems like maybe I overestimated the price, where do you guys think it should be? Thanks guys.
If you purchased the 2oz Tigers (Rolls) from Perth Bullion you paid a fair price. Just hold onto them for a year or five.
I said only for me.The mouse was not even sold out in 2008.The mint had to mint the rest of the 1oz in 2011 to make up the 300k mintage.so it says to me the mouse(or even the series) was not popular at all in the beginning(not sure if it is these days). I just dont like the design at all of any of the s2 coins....again its only me.Im sure some has different opinion I would not pay more than $35 for the mouse.selling is a different story...
I did. I thought I had someone to split them with but it fell through. I tried posting them on the forum for around $140 (assuming someone would try and talk me down to around what I actually paid) but I didn't get much feedback. I don't mind holding on to things for a while but I'm trying hard to get my australian sovereign set done and I'm raising money for a bike when I get off my R-date in about 6 weeks. How much is a reasonable price if I was going to take a loss on them? Here's the link to the mice: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-Silber...38?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item259fbd428e much cheaper if you buy all 7 avail shipping wise (he might have more). Looks to be $55 each plus shipping to whoever your sharing them with. I'm not super confident on splitting the rest but maybe it looks good to someone else. Looks like the cheapest on ebay at least (go go gadget euro smackdown).
None of the lunar series were particularly popular up to and including 2008. If you go back through PM mintage records you'll see that the mintage numbers for series 1 were not much different from the 2008 Mouse series 2. It is only during 2009 that we see mintage numbers start to increase leading to probably the peak (arguably) with the 2012 Dragon (although I still think this will be the lemon of the series as everyone stocked up on it expecting it to make this big profit because it was the dragon - the oversupply will take many years to filter out). The early series 2 coins of any size will always command a good premium because of the limited number of collectors then. Even the Gilded Mouse, Ox and Tiger are commanding huge premiums as people chase them to complete sets. The reminting(?) of the 1oz mouse just helped make the other "unlimited" mintage sizes even more valuable. I know I can't get enough mice for the shop. I have a backlog of orders for them currently and I've seen consistant sales of them well up into the mid to high $60's. I repeat - if anyone finds a supply at $35 per coin - I'll take 'em! malachii
I really don't think <$40 is the market price for 2008 silver mouse as a lot of dealers selling them by over $60 AUD at the moment. Similar to OX and Tiger. Is there anyone want to exchange your extra OX and Tiger for Mouse? I just bought a roll of Mouse (1 OZ) and want to exchange half roll for OX and Tiger.
In the US, I can not find the 1 oz Mouse for less than $45 per coin delivered (haven't checked per roll). APMEX (the most widely recognized bullion dealer in the US) is currently selling them for no cheaper than $65. It's a crack pipe dream to get 1 oz Mouses for under $45 delivered in the US. Not gonna happen unless the coin market just crashes big. .
I think the last 1oz mouse roll I sold was for about $40US/coin + postage. I sold some rolls for $35US/coin, but the market has moved up in the last few months.
Was going to grab some myself, as well as the 5oz and 10oz but........................ I'm waiting for the smack-down in April. Those rolls of 2oz will do ok though phrenzy, they probably contain some MS70 coins and are very collectable. The Tiger is probably one of the best designs.
