The 1kg coins can be still minted up until 2019 in unlimited quantities. Perth mint policy, (see old threads)

Could get lucky but as bull bear pointed out Perth mint can still remint the coins.

I've read about this now and then but I'm unfamiliar with details.
How does this go? What makes them decide to mint more? Do they ask the same price as for a current year coin?

Not 100% sure the details, but understand that all it takes is an authorised dealer to place an order big enough for Perth Mint to create a new batch.
