The Precious Metal House website has been down for two weeks now. Anybody know what's up? Have they been shut down? I know it says maintenance but sheesh c'mon.
Theres a thread on kitco that says they may of done a runner & closed up shop. Some people have bought metal & never received their goods -sites gone,twitter,linkedin,facebook etc Generally thats a good indication theyve left town. ^ thats good to hear ... I know id be screaming for blood if i placed a order & never received it. Makes me angry just hearing about things like that. Thats the beauty of the forums & the net now,weve got such a vast network of members mostly all sharing the same common interests,its great we can bring these things to peoples attention when outright theft is happening,although some stackers probably got stung. Its pays to shop at the dealers that have been round for a while & are here to stay,if its a website/shop thats fairly new i tend to watch it for a while,see what others feedback is & test buying in smaller quantities first to see if theres any dramas when it might come to buying in bulk. If its a new kid on the block i tend to give them a go if they have competetive pricing,a good website,good customer service & products another dealer might not carry in their range of pm's. I read your post about pagnanis .. Sorry to hear about that is there any chance you can go through the ombudsmen and chase them down? Or going through your bank to try n get a deposit back ? Depends how you went about the transaction i suppose. Sometimes you come to a dead end with things like this,but you never know sometimes in rare cases the squeaky wheel gets the oil. I know from experience the ombudsmen are pretty slow at doing what they do but in the end it can pay off
For some reason, I thought they shut down temporarily to hedge the decline of metal prices. Then open back up when the price rises to +$30 again.
I've already got request for assitance in with "Paymate" the company i transferred the cash through, i have the details for the SA Consumer and Business Services Customer Centre, so i'll try that. It was one of those things, thought i'd done a bit of reasearch, checked on this site and they did exist and they had produced. It was a small order and it's the first time i've been done , so i'll chalk it up to experience and keep stacking

If you paid by your credit card you can get your money back via credit card company. Depending on how you paid, the bank may help you out as well. Hopefully you will get more communication from them on the situation. I bought a couple times from PMH but I prefer TTO (The Troy Ounce) or SGB (Silvergoldbull)

Just a stall tactic? The contact that came from removed his personalized message from his phone since Friday. Still hoping

I was burnt by them as well although not as bad as some others. I smelled a rat in October of last year already. They kept making excuses as to why my order had not been shipped yet. Delay tactics were the name of their game. After three months of back and forth i finally couldn't deal with the deceit anymore, was absolutely exhausted and reported them to the Better Business Bureau. In February of this year I did not receive the items i ordered, but items they reported had the same bullion value. I believe that they only reason i got anything at all was because i brought in the BBB. They have since lost their Accreditation with the BBB and there is an alert out on Precious Metal House on the BBB website. My fear is that the guilty party (managing director) simply opens another company with a different name and continues in his unscrupulous ways. Nobody deserves to be the victim of these "fly by night" type operations. I truly hope that others will be able to recover some of their losses.
Scary, placed a fairly substantial order with PMH in January. Had our money, and lots of excuses as to why they were Not shipping. Finally threatened to involve the BBB and they shipped. Feel bad for all you guys who got burned, hope it will still work out Ok. Had to join this forum to tell my experience with PMH. From now On I'm dealing locally with product in hand before payment.
