    1910 - 1945 around $12 each
    1946 - 1963 around $6 each

Could be worth more if in good condition to coin collectors.

stackers might not all pay spot for them though. I dont mind paying spot -5% for the pre war ones and spot -10% for the post-war ones when I have the cash to splash. But I am a cheapskate.

I try and buy under spot but if I find something I like, I will pay spot.

Just picked up a batch of pre-decimals including some items from 1910 - 1916 ... just the numi value of these covers all the coins I just bought. :)

I used to pay under spot for these until everyone got into silver, now they are harder to find but you can still pick them up for a good price.

I wouldn't pay a premium for them though. If you are going to pay spot plus a premium you may as well buy nice new shiney .999 rounds.

Having said that, I did just pay about $40 each for 10 crowns, not the best bargain I know but I needed them for a coin cleaning demo.

I love pre decimals, I have about 23Kg of them but they are dirty and tarnished, they leave my fingers black after I have handled them, still, there is always a chance I will come across a rare coin or variety so it is worth collecting them,

I bought my first pre-decimals (from a member of this site) - picked them up for spot price so was happy with that. Plan to collect a lot more.

True, I see what you are saying. However pre dec is pre dec. if you miss one auction or sale because you don't want to pay above spot you can always go for the next one. there are plenty of them around. It isn't like a numismatic coin or the final coin to complete your collection, they're all fungible! so if you can get one lot for less than spot then you can convert less of your fiat for it or get more silver.

The difference is between getting a bargain, and getting a great bargain.

I said I wouldn't pay over $20! That didn't last long but I have always paid under spot for Pre dec (with the exception of crowns)
