Can I split it? aside from silver, would be crazy not to splash a little into BTC to see where it goes

    Gold.

Inflation kills dollars, BTC has been around for far less than the envisaged timeframe, gold and silver are the only two "enduring" assets on the list.

Not sure I would want to tackle liquidating 250,000oz of silver (or moving the bloody stuff). It would weigh over 7.5 tonnes.

    Me likey the gold :D

    Definitely dollars.....
If it is aussie dollars then 5 million will still be a good pension in 10 years.
If it is u.s. dollars, I will wait for the upcoming and unexpected rise in the u.s. dollar and then when everyone is back on the u.s. dollar bandwagon, start hedging it back against the aussie.

The key thing with the $$ in this case is you said IN A VAULT. Cash in a vault does not accrue interest
