    A suggestion :

If items sent Platinum Express are delayed, one (seller) is able to claim a free bag from Australia Post. Thus the seller gains the advantage of a free bag while the purchaser gains nothing. Is it not the purchaser who pays for the postage and is it not the purchaser who is inconvenienced? Should we as a community agree to split the cost of a bag so that the seller refunds the purchaser 50% of the cost when he/she receives a free bag from Australia Post as a result of delays by Australia Post.

    Any comments ?

Yes, Your argument looks right. It would be fair to refund the buyer at least half the value of the free Plat bag, or send the free bag to the buyer if it is transferable. Buyer has normally paid for the bag and buyer has copped the inconvenience, as you say. Exception where the postage has been advertised as free?

Have you had an actual experience of this?

Yes - I have had items delayed that were sent Plat Express from Sydney or Brisbane. I know that several times these were claimed back by the seller. I have a current purchase that was mailed yesterday. The item has not arrived and according to Australia post has not left Brisbane. The seller has asked me to notify him when it arrives as he has many items that were sent to Perth that were delayed and he has claimed bags back from Australia Post. In this case the seller paid for the transport so I have no claim, but usually it is the buyer that pays and should get some compensation.

yeah fair cop I reckon, there is the time spent chasing it as well to consider, but I think 1/2's is a good bet or free postage next trade?

I had many platinum not arrived in time.
On the last one I complained at the place of postage. They told me to call the post office directly. I did call them on the 13 October and they recorded my complain with a reference number. That was 4 weeks ago. I called them 2 more times since and they said be patient because they are busy.
I waisted so much of my time to get replacement, but nothing happened so far.

It is all written on the Post Office website, expect the procedure how you actually make a clam, so the retail store ask you to call the 131318 number and on the phone they ask you to go to the post office.
