places to buy palladium in Australia?

    Hi, I'm looking to an ounce of Pd to add to my stack in the near future for some diversity and was just wondering if there are any local dealers here who sell it. I'd prefer to buy locally than from apmex etc.

    You might want to try City Gold Bullion or ABC - not sure if any others about.

    But be aware that Pd purchases are subject to the gst, as it isnt classed as a precious metal in Australia.

    What's the reason they give for not classifying platinum as a precious metal?

    GST legislation only defines platinum, gold and silver as precious metals for GST purposes. There's no reason given for other metals being excluded. If you read through the legislation, it's very easy to poke numerous holes in the sense of it.
