Has anybody had problems with these peeling? I bought them from a reputable dealer so I believe they're real. Is this common and does it effect resale?
It's just protective plastic on protective casing, fine to remove. Common and shouldn't affect resale price.
Its a peel off film to "protect" the card from scratches but not necessary. It was posted about before. Think the 5 and 10gr don't come with it. Is yours a 20? Can't see from the pics.
Ohhh... The plot thickens. Maybe they've started putting them on. Found the thread- http://forums.silverstackers.com/message-299834.html#p299834 I've peeled all mine off and plenty have come without it. Pretty pointless as the cards don't scratch all to easy.
I have one of those from PB that has/had the plastic protective on it. I removed it when i got it it was peeling around the edgers. It just a scratch cover like u get on a new lcd screen...
I've delt with many 5g ones and they all have that. Don't worry about it, should sell for the same price.
Oh I would hate to visit your house then.. worn and peeling protective plastic is a major pet hate of mine. If it's intended to prevent damage prior to use, why let it deteriorate and detract from your enjoyment of it? I've seen microwaves with filthy bubbling plastic over the keypad, it's gross and unhygienic but won't be removed because underneath the appliance is still like new. But what's the benefit of an untouched keypad if you're looking at (and touching) the skanky packaging that should have been removed years earlier? Just my 2 vents worth. Feel much better now
