The market is saturated with coloured coins like these so it raises to bar for desirability.

Sets like these tend not to appreciate, do not expect this to.

Picking which "set" that is likely to appreciate is difficult. I think the first coin of a series is the best. Usually it is never a "set".

    Current picks are:
    * Star trek transportor set limited mintage 1,500 as there are trekkie freaks that will cross over and want the coin and box.
    * 1st issue of Gods and Goddess of Olympus. E.g. Hera coin.

These types of things do well. First one of a series. However lots of people flip and coin stores have been known to hold back inventory to sell on ebay or at higher prices and it has ruined the secondary market. Many coin shops won't sell at issue price and hold back their inventory to sell at higher prices if the item looks like it will be popular.

    That's life!

+1 on Gods of Olympus (not sure about the second series yet after they raised the mintage to 2000). The coloured coin series often seem to play it safe with ther designs so most never really stand out or generate much opinion beyond the occasional meh.

The Gods of Olympus designs were different enough to generate quite a bit of interest and even some polarized opinions, so they ranked quite high in terms of attention gained.
