hehe anything's possible but I doubt it, they have milked it enough me thinks. But then again this is the Perth Mint we're talking about...
Very famous last words  I just don't forsee anything increasing in value from the Perth Mint anymore. They've totally over saturated this Dragon market with gimmicky crap. They just slap a 5,000 mintage on and people buy it up like hotcakes.......
You spoke too soon: March release 2012 Year of the Dragon 1oz Silver Proof High Relief Coin Still plenty to be milked out of the dragon year
Yes I will say it again, by September 2012 there will be more Numi dragons then people on this earth... that being said if there is no paint on it i'm going to get at least one
I agree- PM really milking the dragon hype. I see in March they will be releasing a 2012 1oz Year of the dragon high relief coin! Anyways, I ordered the berlin dragon coin as well as the new dragon series coin. Hope they increase in value...
By the looks of the link below there will be a 5 ounce dragon as well and the opal series is "set" at 2 coins, the wombat to follow. I think this list goes upto 2014 but who knows if the PM have to stick to this list or not?! http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2011L02779/Explanatory Statement/Text Thanks to Scorpion for the link. The only money the P/ Mint will be getting from me now is for bullion bars/coins. Theres only a very slight chance that i'll buy any Snakes as well. Who cares if theres a mintage of 50 or 5,000. Too many products are killing any chance of decent returns. So many are getting sucked in to buy this stuff(most of it is extreme crap). If you want a chance at real returns with coins, go speak to The Rare Coin Company. Many of us are waking up to all the mints games. Bullion bars/coins and rare coins is where you can make really good money. Some may ask why I think bullion bars/coins will do better than all this P/mint crap recently released, the reason is many of these duds want be worth much more than purchase price even if Silver goes to $100. Many of us have paid $110+ /oz. Thats ridiculous and we have been sucked in. Go do the maths on what someone will pay you for say 3 koalas or kooks if Silver goes to $100/oz compared to what you will get for a $110 pm numi. I bet you wont get $300 for many of the 1oz pm numis there pumping out. The mintages dont mean much anymore because the P/Mint is pumping so much out it is destroying the market IMHO. Scorp
According to the Perth Mint website, the opal series is 8 coins, 2 to be released each year "This stunning series will feature eight coins in total, with two releases per year." http://www.perthmint.com.au/catalog...ies-the-koala-2012-1oz-silver-proof-coin.aspx
PM is guessing which products will sell well, for us, we thinking which one is the real sleeper and will give best return for us. what will be the result? when all are overpriced, NONE can give us best return
Oh, okay, crazy kids at the Perth Mint! I imagine they will release a 2 ounce dragon at the Perth ANDA show?
The new Opal Series looks very attractive, but the light in the display box is what convinced me to buy one...LOL I had no difficulty placing my order, and if my order number is representative they have sold nearly 1,000 already. I have seen two eBay actions at us$300+ for the Opal Koala. That is what is being asked not what is being paid. The price in us$ including shipping is us$150...very expensive for a 1 oz. silver proof coin. I wonder what the packaging with the light cost?
About an extra 50c I would think. Not very hard to rig up. Possibly even 10c when you consider the bulk price they would of got for the 3 or 4 components. Just look at those (14 led) torches that sell for $5. Scorp
