Perth Mint late night again?

    Is it really only a month ago that we had this late night nightmare with the Perth Mint?
    Is anyone getting up tonight to buy the ten coin dragon set?

    I think I'll skip this time. The high relief coins I got last time all had a COA of over 3000 and I thought I'd be rewarded with low COAs.
    I'll check tomorrow morning and if there's any left it's not worth buying it anyway :)

    Nope,
    I personally got the 9 coin coloured set (china release) last year and happy as can be with that for what it is.. :p
    I really like the gold chinese dragon coloured face coins that pm did for the chinese market as well, got a 1/4 ounce gold one of those as well...

    Nope not me, $100 a coin for 1oz color when you can by a 2oz color for $100, doesnt make investment sense to me !

    Seems the mint is having trouble moving their various 1oz coloured coins. So they should. Priced up at $107 for 1oz of silver might have seemed like a smart play when silver was bearing down on $50 an ounce but now its fallen to about $30, proofs coins 250% above spot as an issue price is farcical.

    Time the mint bit the bullet and moved these coins back to the $70's or $80's at most which is where they were price at late 2010 when silver got to $30 the first time (since 1980).

    I'm out!

    They would probably look ok but I really don't think they will do that well. If I am right I may be able to pick them up in a few years time for below the release price and if I am wrong... I still have a drawer full of different dragons to get along with. I will be interested to see how long they are available for though.

    "top seller" "recommended" "extremely limited" are all just marketing terms to try to get their coins to sell !

    Plenty of 10 coin sets still available, not a sell-out on the first day usually means they will find it hard to hold their value at release price of $1k.

    for little red dot here, we pay gst add $95...free shipping, so the amount is a little bit below AUD 1k

    can not see much upside from here for the near term. no way to flip this set.
