Recently looked at a purchase of bars from the Perth Mint but was put off by the packaging and freight charges - double that of other merchants.
Does anyone know the justification for it? I don't have an issue if there is value in it but for the moment, I cannot see it.

The negative...Yes very expensive shipping and insurance. :|

    The positive...Excellent packaging.

I would have thought Perth would be able to sell bullion bars and coins a lot cheaper than our on-line sponsors and deliver them cheaper but...that's not the case. :(

Also their weight calculator must be out sometimes.

I have paid for X amount of Kg of postage and when it arrived their weight written on the package by them was a full 1.1 Kg less than paid for... so they get a free $17.50 for nothing.

Didn't bother asking for refund. Should of I suppose. Us Ozzies just don't complain enough though.
