A couple of questions about the up coming release of the Dragons. Is there a exact date of release and is there going to be a higher premium on them straight from the mint? Thankyou
The answer to your second question is yes if you mean in comparison to bulk preorder deals that have been offered. Coins straight from the mint always attract a high premium. But who knows where spot will be in September? Could conceivably be cheaper to wait and buy straight from the mint or a dealer, but for that to be the case silver would have to drop a bit - but how far exactly?
Is it conceivable that on the release date in Sept, Perth Mint puts out the SOLD OUT sign for the 1oz silver Dragons? I am only going by the huge interest in pre-orders and pre-allocations. Or would Perth Mint leave plenty in the tank for direct business?
Is it written anywhere that the Perth Mint MUST sell it's coins linked to metal price? Wearing a debono 'blue hat', is there anything stopping the issue price of the 1ouncers being $50,$70,$100 each? That would surely put a dampener on demand ? Either way, I'd put even money on that new coin press the Mint just commissioned is punching out nothing but 2012 dragons!
There are those in this forum who know the answer .... More I cannot say! Can't even offer a possibly misconstrued wink!
Well just have a look at the rainbow selection of coloured dragons (blue, brown, yellow etc) that are going to be offered to have a hint at what the mint thinks the supply & availability of the "genuine" specimen bullion 1oz coins will be like. It was asked via PM - to save twenty questions on the inner workings of Gold Stackers (a private company), yes, I've had to pay additional premiums upfront over buying Koalas (or Kookaburras had they been available) to lock in 2012 Dragons, in anticipation of a premium hike by the mint in September.
That's my concern. 5oz coins are such a nice size too. Given they're the $8 coin (a lucky number) they'll probably be back in prod though - both 5oz and 10oz are listed for release in Dragon.
2012 dragon, does it has "glow in the dark one"? or will it be a disappointment for a radiated dragon??
As the Perth Mint retail shop, as far as I understand, is a different entity/dealer of the Perth Mint. I would imagine that they have the same kind of pre allocation system as all the other dealer on this forum. Whether or not they decide to take pre orders or wait until the official release is up to them I guess, but I could imagine that waiting for the official release date and having long lines outside the mint may be good for business.
