What are your thoughts regarding the Perth Mint 5oz High Relief Silver Coin strikes of the Wedge Tailed Eagles, Kooks, Koalas etc?

They appear to be rather over priced ~$450 - 500 but hot damn they are impressive looking coins.

Doesnt look like the secondary market really values them. I see quite a few going on ebay in the same price range (meaning they are likely selling at a loss after fees right..).

I like them so much I might set a goal to acquire one for personal enjoyment, but curious if anyone has had any success in flipping them? or did you get burned?

Scary price I`m afraid . Would really like the kookaburras but not able to afford the going price.
Was hoping to buy at least one for my collection perhaps at a later date .

I used to collect these but when it came time to sell these were impossible to sell without a substantial loss plus it took a significant time

A shame really as they are beautiful pieces in particular the wedge tailed eagle ones

I guess what this all says is buy them secondhand and be patient and push for a good price. Pay less and get a beautiful coin.

Agreed! 5 oz are for the collectors box only. If you’re looking to flip to make money. Forget about it! Just not happening.
