I have seen 10gram cards with a plastic see through film peeling away. I wasn't game to attempt to rip the rest of it off though as I didn't know if it would make it worse.
Has anyone checked the security text coding on their perth mint bars under UV lighting? I bought a 50 gram gold bar, and was just wondering how I confirm the contents... I don't any reason not to think is may be fake, but was wondering if anyone else has actually checked the certicard packaging under a UV light. I am new the this, so a little paranoid...
Unfortunately, quite often Perth Mint's Certicards' plastics don't align well. Don't meddle with them, the whole thing might come apart and ruins the certification.
I DO NOT buy packaging , I BUY PRECIOUS METALS> With the exception of COA for limited addition coins i do not give a toss about packaging of my gold . As long as it is gold i do not care. I see plenty , may be even most gold sold around my parts with no pretty certicards. I think people need to have a real hard look at there reasons for stacking if a ripped or misaligned piece of cardboard is going to make a difference as to them buying something. What is it you are really buying? The cardboard , plastic or the metal?
Did you see the image with the "VOID" text? Make sure you keep it tightly together, if it's a black Certicard case. The old green ones don't have this "VOID" function. But it's good to keep them together. Very often they don't align well. It's common with Perth Mint. I don't know how they make such terrible manufacturing mistakes.
lol I ripped the plastic shipping protection off my certicard as it was bubbled and coming off, it looks so much nicer with the plastic removed and I didnt wear white gloves to stop fingerprints on the certicard lol
Not my experience. May be a rough looking package does not help a sale, but NO PACKAGING at all is just fine and "generally" the way most people buy and sell gold bigger than 1gm.
