    I'm still hoping my detector nails a 1930 penny one day :)

    That said, I do dig up pre-decimals in amazing condition sometimes. I do certainly think about getting them graded and then slabbed for resale above their intrinsic metal value. Many coins detectorists find have been sitting under ground and don't have the wear and tear a circulated coin will invariably get.
