Who else has noticed how much peace dollars sell for on ebay? It is ridiculous! There are people trying to sell, for example, 1922-S uncirculated peace dollars for $250+, this is a coin with 17.5 million mintage! Admittedly there are no bites on most of them, but it is flooded with those kind of offerings. Quite funny really Now I'm kicking myself because I messed up an auction for a '57 constitution Mex 10 Peso this morning, in excellent condition, that went for US$61 - a coin the same size and purity as a peace dollar (and close to our crowns), attractive design and a mintage of only 100k like our '38 crowns! The mind boggles...
Havent got one yet prefer the morgans but it is surprising the way it has gone up...sorta like the round 50s mabye i should get a couple of peaceys b4 the price goes too high
certainly is suprising given how common they are. Not a fan of the morgan dollar design personally - the peace dollar is my fav. Would also like to get my hands on a few at a reasonable price
I picked up a 1922 Peace Dollar on the weekend at an antique store in Melbourne. Paid $30 for it, which I think is a bargain for numismatic value (and not too far off the melt bullion price). It is a very beautiful design, nice to add one to the collection.
I have about 10 of them (Some might even be Morgans) If anyone want 10 for $315 delivered, let me know.
