Whilst on the prowl for some pandas I came across this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Panda-...18678?pt=US_Bullion_Coins&hash=item2c8dc8f616 From a numi and collector perspective, this would mean low mintage coins will be even rarer? ie. say 30k mintage, and if they cut up 1000.. that'd mean 29k left intact?
I wonder how much metal is now missing from the coin, it would be interesting to know the new weight. I would think its impossible to cut the pieces without loosing some metal.
The manufacturer is USA as show in ebay means it is non-official coin from china. It is interesting to view the reverse side of the coin still bear the words of Republic of china.
Yennus, I read somewhere that for 2013 and prior, they are becoming more valuable because they are the last ones used 1oz rather than gram (?). is this true?
^ its been confirmed that 2015 onwards the oz metric wont be used on pandas. They're going to use grams instead. That'd mean 2014 is the last year with oz.
