My fellow Panda stackers, i am planing to increase my gold holdings as price continue to drop, and fractional 2012 gold Panda in HK BOC is best candidate for that, but i have idea on my mind that maybe it will not bee bad investment to buy some 5 oz gold Panda or 2012 5 oz gold Dragon, however 5 oz 2012 Gold Panda have high mintage 6000pcs and Dragon only 2000pcs. I am also considering 2011 & 2010 5 oz Panda, they have large premiums and i can lose couple oz AU if i go with that choice. So question will be buy more oz of 2012 Au fractional Pandas or go to smaller mintage coins like 2010,2011 & 2012 5 oz Panda or 5 oz 2012 Dragon?
I will post prices from CGC latter today.

    These r fresh Panda&Dragon prices:

    1-2010 5 oz Au Panda 17650usd.................mintage 1000pcs
    2-2011 5 oz Au Panda 13545usd.........................2000pcs
    3-2012 5 oz Au Panda 9066usd -expected price.............mintage 6000pcs
    4-2012 5 oz Au Dragon 22468usd ................mintage 2000pcs
5-2012 1 oz Au Panda 1634usd -expected price based on current price of 2011 1oz Au Panda.................mintage 600000pcs
I am missing 20 oz to reach my goal for 2012

    1-totaly 20 x 1 oz 2012 AU Panda x 1634=32680usd, this amount i am ready to spent, 20oz Au total
    2- 1x 5 oz 2010 AU Panda 17650 + 1x 5 oz 2011 Au Panda 13545usd+ 1x 1 oz 2012 Au Panda 1634, =32829usd, 11oz Au total
    3-1x 5 oz 2011 AU Panda 13545 + 1x 5 oz 2012 AU Panda 9066+ 6 x 1 oz 2012 AU Panda 1634,=32415usd, 16 oz AU total
    4- 1x 5 oz 2012 AU Panda 9066 + 14 x 1 oz 2012 AU Panda 1634,=32066usd, 19 oz Au total
    5-1x 5 oz 2012 AU Dragon 22468+ 1 x 5 oz 2012 AU Panda 9066 + 1 x 1 oz 2012 Au Panda=33174 usd, 11 oz AU total
Other combination r also possible, what is ur opinion?

P.S. silver 1 oz proof 2012 dragon price increase to 269usd for round one and to 237 usd for flower one, they say that it is bigger demand for round one and colorized one  and that someone buy huge quantity so price go up.

If 20 oz is your goal mls, then you have no option, you go for the 2012 pandies.

I was thinking about option No 6: 3 x 5 oz AU 2012 Panda +4 x 1 oz Au 2012 Panda( probably set 1-1/20 x 2) . I am aware that 5oz pandas r not liquid but so only i need to consider is better to have many fractional Pandas or big ones?

Can you only get 2012 pandas? from my little understand, 2012 might be the start of the lose of numi value for pandas due to the high volume of mintage? Don't quote me on that i am not 100% sure, sure one the panda hardcore guys around here would know.

I have found that 1oz Gold and 1oz Silver Pandas are definitely the most liquid items to hold...

There are certainly good margins on the large Proof Pandas. Take a look at some of the prices of the pre2000 5oz and 12oz Pandas... amazing!

In my opinion, the safest move would be to get 1oz Silver and 1oz Gold Pandas (2011 or 2012). Obviously this is likely to have the lowest return also.

When I started, I preferred to stick with the safe bullion Pandas... but now I try and find the Pandas that are in the highest demand, or are at BARGAIN prices.

What is the goal here? Increase the amount of gold being held or make numismatic investments?
