Incredibly hard to find, and harder to purchase (at reasonable prices) are the German Pandas used to celebrate the Munich International Coin Fairs .

Sorry for the poor quality pics... I'll try to take better snapshots later in the week... I got a few more Pandas I wanna show and tell :)

I really like what Peter Anthony writes: "Panda Diplomacy"

"Germany. Among western countries, Germany made a conspicuous effort to expand its trade relations with China... German Chancellor Helmut Kohl visited China four times between 1989 and 1995 and a German company built a new subway system in Guangzhou, China's third largest city. Was the medal series for the Munich Coin Fairs a return gesture from China, a kind of "Panda Diplomacy"? Whatever the motive, the 1/2oz Gold 1989 Munich International Coin Fair Panda starts a sequence of Panda medals that celebrate that city's landmarks - in this case the Ruhmeshalle (Hall of Fame)."

Quoting one of the people that helped start this Pandamonium in me "like the old saying goes, everything's for sale - at the right price."

1989 Munich International Coins Fair 1/2oz Gold Panda RRP: $2695
1991 Munich International Coins Fair 1/2oz Gold Panda RRP: $2770
