I recently got a bunch of these baby Pandas graded (2007 1/20oz Gold Pandas), and was surprised that there are so few that have been sent to NCS/NGC. For a coin with a mintage authorization of 200,000, there are only 82 that have been graded. Which is even less than the super rare highly desired 2000 1oz Silver Panda Mirrors (267 graded). Not much market info on these bears at the moment... zero results on the PandaStats.org website (which is super cool if you didn't already know). Nevertheless, I was fortunate to get one of these Perfect Pandas (population of 9) ... share in my joy As per usual, I'm open to offers on both
Congrats Yennus. Also recently received a 1/20oz platinum panda. I actually find them quite impressive with how much detail there is in such a small coin. The new NGC holders also also give it that floating look. Being new to this I am only guessing but my thoughts would be that it would appeal to someone trying to complete a vertical collection of 1/20 ms70s or complete a 2007 gold set. For these collector price implications become less about coin size/bullion value but coin rarity and supply/demand. Too small a population to draw any conclusions but 1/82 hit rate for a ms70 is looking good for you. By the way I recall reading somewhere you were concentrating on pre 2000 pandas. Give the rest of us a chance
can I send my coins to you and you send them for me to NGC ,or maybe you could just come here to the US and touch the boxes before I ship them to NGC congrats my friend!! I hope your roll at NGC lives long and prospers!!!
Thanks digoxin. I agree. Despite their tiny size, they do have a remarkable amount of detail struck upon them. Yep, I can imagine there must be at least a few thousand people trying to construct a vertical set of 1/20oz Gold Pandas. Perhaps I was fortunate, and got my bears in before everyone else hahaa... yeah, I'm concentrating on the Pre-2000 Pandas too... got some fractional 1992s and 1996s graded also
Thanks jc888888888. AHahha... I'm blessed... that's all I can really claim Yes! Me too, I hope this roll at NGC lives long and prospers!!!
Thanks Madaw1, that's a good idea. I've put one of these MS69s up on Ebay... but I suppose I should offer Silverstacker Members a better price! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/160792904138?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 $220each (+$13.80 500gm Platinum Post) ... Wow... someone is selling their PCGS 2007 MS69 Panda for $365! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2007-CHI...371?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d332b7453
By the way I recall reading somewhere you were concentrating on pre 2000 pandas. Give the rest of us a chance Digoxin , our fearless leader Yennus already owns most of the inventory in Western China . if he does not own it he knows where it is thats how he gets us such great deals !!!......... My only chance is he has not infiltrated the US yet................
HAhaha... I'm just doing my part to share the Panda Pleasure In regards to my current strategy: I'm still hot most Pre-2000 silver... and on the prowl for BarGaIn Panda gold
I think the same But with the 1/20 the key dates i think are 2000 mirror, frosted, 1999, 1998 I think the dealers ncs/ngc 198x for the same price than 2007/2008/2009 And for the people thnk 198x for 220/250 or 2007 for 220/240 they took 198x. But in a few years they will soarrrr too.
It's so hard to find complete sheets of 1/20oz Pandas in any year at the moment... Dealers want to sell compete tao's (sets of 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz and 1/20oz), and those prices are kinda outside of my affordability ability
