Hi all, I'm not only new to ss, but also to buying gold and silver...and other shiny stuff. I want to collect and invest. Any advice on how to buy precious metals on this forum? And also terminology like 'buzz' etc on this site? I'm a very paranoid person (originally from South Africa and been robbed and ripped off too many times to count), so ideally I'd like to also know by general consensus, the reliability of the users here, and how to go about not buying fake stuff. I've researched many sites and this seems to be the most appropriate site I've come across. Thanks in advance, Regards, Pedro

Ps, after committing to buy...do I make arrangements with the person, or is there things like paypal links or do we do it mafia style and I meet you in a random car park after midnight smoking a cigar and looking all tough? But, before I get ahead of myself(I'm stupid keen incase you haven't noticed), I'll see what is available and do some more research. Ideally, just to get in the game I'd like to swap a single item for shiny stuff before I spend my blood, sweat and tears derived money. I'll follow some of your links, especially regulars. It's all based on trust so bank transfers and face to face are the more usual methods but PayPal etc can be done. As you're new, expect to have to send the money first and receive metal after. Once you build up a good SS profile and are in good standing, you'll be more trusted in transactions. Get a PO box and don't keep metals at home!
