Thought that I'd post this article here as it would probably get the most attention. Photo of alumium case that holds the coins is in the original article. (Don't know where the photos of the coins the police released are though!!)

Police are searching for a passionate coin collector they believe may have been burgled up to two years ago.

Police say the coins had been in in their possession for two years and hoped to reunite the collection to its rightful owner.

“We have been unable to locate the owner through our usual avenues of enquiries,” police said in a Facebook post.

“We believe the collection was stolen in burglary.

“We know these must be valuable to someone and we would really like to get them back to them.”

Police have released several images of the coins in the hope that the owner can be identified.

Anyone who believes the collection may belong to them are urged to contact the property office at Narre Warren Police Station on 03 9705 3111 during business hours.

Those inquiring about the coins will need to prove ownership and quote property number: 201511-C-0201.

There's a small album for "Vietnamese Coin Collection" which could be rather unusual for most collectors? There were no additional photos of coins on their FB post either.
