You remind me of the nightmare I had with a W124, many years ago now, the one with the bio degradable wiring harness. In two years, no one could fix that car until I gave up on the "experts" and fixed it myself. It was either a crash course in back yard Mercedes repair 101 or off to the knackers yard with it. I ended up keeping this very reliable car for many years after that repair and gained a lot of experience both in how simple these cars actually are and how simple the minds of mechanics and auto electricians actually are also.
