Yennus ,I would certainly send them an e mail with your order /invoice and state that you want that attribution added to your order they will NOT IMO just add it ,they are not mind readers, they are going to carry out the specifics of your order to the letter, they are not going to assume you wanted it but did not want to pay for it,I am sure they will now add the variety without charge, but you really need to let them know your wishes...........

Does anyone now if NGC grades coins on Saturday or Sundays. Sorry for silly question.
But i think the amount of coins they get to be graded, they have to be really busy.
I send 12 coins to be graded this month, but so far i only see status at NGC that they received my coins, but haven't started grating them yet.

They'll get to it. I have no idea if they work on the weekends, but I do know that it takes them 30-45 days to get to your order.

I dont think they do work weekends ,FYI on timeline ,I sent 58 coins to NGC on DEC 10 ,just to be graded ,no conservation ,modern tier (a bunch of lunars) they did not recieve them formally into there system till Dec 20, sat in scheduled to be graded catagory for an eternity:) ,then moved thru the system pretty quickly, they shipped the coins on Jan 20 th ,so apx 40 days from the time I shipped them.Fyi I sent some just 5 days ago to NGC already recieved ,so good news is they look like they are getting caught up!

Tamo42 & jc888888888 thank you for responding to my question.
I send my coins on January 7 to be graded. This is my first time that i send coins to NGC, that's why i'm still learning. On NGC site it says that modern tier service for world coins will take 12 days.
I send some lunar dragons, silver pandas & a 1989 Canada 1 oz proof Maple Leaf.

Always keep in mind that the turnaround times on the NGC site are estimates only. Times for NCS services aren't even estimated because it's dependent on how extensive the service is on your coins, in addition to how many are in line ahead of you. Good luck with your first batch. I hope you get some high grades. You can track the progress of your submission when you sign into your account as well. You'll be able to see the grades online once they are ready to be returned as well if you don't want to wait until they are delivered to you.

Thank you heyimderrick for advise and your support.
If i get 1 ms70 from my 12 coins that i send, i will be happy. I guest i just have to wait until NGC finish grading my coins. I will post my grades, when NGC finish grading them and coins become available.

heyimderrick what coins do you send to NCS? Do you send just old coins for preservation, or do you also new coins (like 2010-12) to be preserve and then to be graded by NGC.
Can NCS clean coins from silver tarnish, milk spots or any other inperfections?
Let's say that i graded my coins by NGC, will the coins still be the same in 5-10 years in NGC holder (without removing the coin from the holder), or will it have tarnish on the coins over time.
    Any knowledge will greatly appreciated!

I've only sent in coins from 2009 and older. It is cheaper to buy an MS69 2010 or 2011 than it is to buy a loose one to send in for grading.

I don't send in all of my coins either, only the ones that I think will grade high and benefit price-wise. NCS will be able to remove dirt, tarnish and some milk stains. There's a lot of info on their website, NCScoin.com. You can also do a search or go through the panda forum threads -- there are a lot of discussions about grading, services, etc. with a lot of great insights from your fellow collectors here.

For most new releases that come straight from the mint in a capsule, I think you'd be safe just using NGC. The holders used are meant to protect the coin from future degradation. I probably won't send in any post 2009 pandas for grading, unless it is a limited issue, because the mintage numbers are so high it's likely there will be an abundance of MS69 and 70 readily available for purchase at reasonable prices.

UGH! Coins finally done at NCS/NGC. Checked out the results online. NOT what I was hoping for. :( My predictions were right for 12 of the 20. :| I knew some of them would be low because they were dirty and out of OMP, and some others had toning (which is why I sent them in, didn't think they would sell well otherwise) but some of these coins I was sure were going to be MS69, specifically the 2001D, which was in OMP and gorgeous (I examined under a 10x & 15x magnifier), the 1993s, the 2nd 1987Y G5Y (mint sealed), and the 2009 and 2010 G5Y I expected at least MS68 (these were loose bargains at a show). Oh well. That's the gamble with grading. I read on some of the Collector's Society journals that NGC is being a bit stricter with grades in recent months (figures,). Come spring when I want to buy the Ducati Monster I've been lusting for, I'll probably be asking you guys to take some of these off my hands at bargain prices.

Sorry about your low grades, you definitely were disappointed.
My status is still the same, Scheduled for Grading.
I notice one thing on my invoice. All denominations has S on them except the last one.

    001 2012P AUSTRALIA YEAR OF THE DRAGON S$1 n/a n/a
    012 1977(L) USSR OLYMPICS - MAP 10R n/a n/a

I know that S stands for Silver. Does it mean the last one is not a silver coin? I thought it was a proof silver Russian coin. That's what it look to me. Or there's something that i don't know yet about grading.

    Wow! Thanks for sharing heyimderrick.

Hopefully you can still make some money on those.

Were those gold coins still in OMP?

Well first off, my whole strategy with pandas is to only purchase the ones I manage to find for below current market value. Second, I only submit coins for grading that I feel I can later sell and cover my expenses even if they do not get a MS69. I make an exception here if the coin is very toned or dirty where I think conservation will at least restore it to a point where someone besides my bargain hunting self would be willing to purchase it.

Here's a rundown of the coins again, with the found status next to the grade and my prediction for the coins that came back different than expected:

    1989 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 69 OMP
    1997 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 69 OMP
    1990 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 68 CAPSULE-ONLY
    2001D CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 68 OMP (predicted MS69)
    1993 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 68 OMP (predicted MS69)
2001 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 66 LITTLETON COIN HOLDER -- PREVIOUSLY OPENED, VERY DIRTY COIN, F'IN BAD EBAY DEAL (NOT AS SHOWN IN PHOTO) -- (predicted MS67)
    2007 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 69 CAPSULE-ONLY
    2000 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 69 CAPSULE-ONLY
1996 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 68 CAPSULE-ONLY, HAD AN OXIDATION SPOT DEVELOPING ON TEMPLE
    1990 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 68 CAPSULE-ONLY
1992 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 69 VERY TONED, LOOSE IN CARDBOARD 2X2 FLIP (predicted MS68)
1993 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 67 VERY TONED, LOOSE IN CARDBOARD 2X2 FLIP (predicted MS69)
1995 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 68 CAPSULE-ONLY, FOUND AT LOCAL SHOP
    1996 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 69 CAPSULE-ONLY
    2001 CHINA PANDA S10Y MS 69 CAPSULE-ONLY
    1985 CHINA PANDA G5Y MS 69 OMP
    1987Y CHINA PANDA G5Y MS 69 OMP
    1987Y CHINA PANDA G5Y MS 68 OMP (predicted MS69)
2009 CHINA PANDA G20Y MS 67 LOOSE, DIRTY (predicted MS68)
2010 CHINA PANDA G20Y MS 67 LOOSE, DIRTY (predicted MS68)

While I am bummed about a few of the coins, I'm not too concerned. 68s still get strong action from my observations, the MS67 1993 shouldn't be an issue either. The MS67 G20Ys I was able to purchase and grade for less than the price of an OMP. The 1987Y is a low census coin, so MS68 should fair well. It's all gold at the least, and I have no doubts that I will be able to still get a solid return on those.

I was chatting with a pal who is a big panda seller on ebay and also an NGC/NCS customer. He too noted that in the last few months it seems NGC is being more conservative with the grades. But like I said before, that's the gamble we all take when submitting coins. When I get these all back and can check them out again, I may consider breaking out the 2001d, 1993s and 1987y to resubmit, just to see what happens. I was pretty confident on all of those as I could not see any flaws under my scope.

So far I have submitted 32 coins to NCS:
    MS69: 17
    MS68: 10
    MS67: 4
    MS66: 1

While those results aren't impressive, the first 12 I sent in I really had no idea how to evaluate the coins so it was a complete experiment to learn what to look for. This batch of 20 I chose to submit coins that I knew would not be MS69. I'll likely be a bit more critical on the post-2000 coins now because of the price increase for NCS and NGC services, but pre-2000 I am still satisfied with MS68 as long as I got them for bargains to start with. Plus, of the 7 OMP submitted on this lot, 4 were MS69 and 3 were MS68, so while the sampling is limited, it reinforces my confidence in MS68. If I had the choice between an OMP that I could not see in person, or an NCS MS68, I would take the NCS MS68, even if it was more a bit more than OMP.

Sorry for the long reply.

Nice. Now you'll have to post up your results when they're available. Maybe make a new sticky thread for posting submission details?
