    Hi there,
I'm interested in gold coins, particularly krugerrands. I have an unusual collection of them and gold sovereigns that I inherited. I also have about 150 x rough cast yellow, white and rose gold ingots, roughly 120grams each and marked by colour but not carat. My grandfather was a jeweller for many years and I'd say these ingots are cast lemmel and recycled jewellery so need advice on refining and re- smelting into certified ingots if anyone knows? Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

Hi, I'm in Eastern Australia. I've got a slightly dodgy feeling from one unnamed precious metals reclaimer. Telling me a lot of it could be copper, silver and lead. I've made jewellery out of all three ingots (yellow, rose, white) and it draws, works and polishes like a slightly softer 9ct but there are over a hundred and that was just one of each. If I know my grandfather he would have been pretty meticulous about sorting and smelting the colours at least, no carat stamp on ingots so my guess is everything of one colour went in the pot. I doubt if there's much semi-precious metals mixed in other than rose gold/copper alloy. Kruger are quite tarnished but all within a 1-2 grams of fighting weight. Circulated by rich pirates :)

Well I'll agree with Humbolt there. Feeling was not good at all. Maybe Palloys or someone?
