Hi There, I'm new to this forum, I've been introduce into the world of silver via a game forum and have been hook on it ever since.

I'm a Malaysian, but currently working in the Philippines. The fad in Malaysia are currently for 1oz silver bars and Perth mint coins, the Dirhams and Dinar are slowly picking up.

Hope to make some deals in this forum for Silver :)

Hey mu, welcome, thanks for the info about the dirhams and dinars. Are they readily available, weren't some regions paying their workers with these?

I've haven't heard of any that do so, but some shops do accept payments in dirham and dinar even wet markets but this are mostly in PAS controlled states (PAS is a Muslim party) And yes they are readily available.

Ah and thank you for the warm welcome everyone.

    G'day Mu24

My mate from work is from the Philippines, he tells me that gold jewellery over there is sold according to weight & purity whereas here in Australia it's gold content x 500% less 50% off sale.

Maybe there's an opportunity there for you to buy up some jewellery and exchange it with us Aussies for silver?

    Just a thought

In the Philippines it is prohibited to export any raw precious metals or jewellery without indications of actual fineness of quality same goes for importation. Quite a hassle if you ask me, and given that the level of corruption here is some what high (no offense to Filipino's) I would rather not risk exporting it.

All my importation of silver are sent to Malaysia which I'll get tax 15% for silver coins and 0% for Bullions (0% for gold of any type), in Philippines I get charge 20% tax and a 10% VAT of the value of the PM.
