I can't get the carded version, as i'm Europe.

I hope that all these carded ones are gobbled up by silver stackers members :)

Cheers mate, but a coin in a blister pack or...as a unique release like the Aussie version is exactly what makes a coin valuable!

Look at the Koala coins as an example!

Many new folk, can't get their head around why a bullion coin in a blister pack is more expensive.

The reason is...it's a collector item...the packaging and coin has "exclusivity".

Just like footy or base ball cards, some of us collect specimen coins in blister packs! :)

We...The Aussies have them and no one else does :p :D

only Oz's have them because no one else willing to pay $10 for paper :)

Well I am going to put my non blister pack Stock Horse coin in a nice box, and I am sure it will sell for more than the blister pack version. The amount for sale in a nice wooden display box will be even more limited than the blister pack

Where is this "$10 extra" people are referring to. I can only see the carded one for sale @ $59ea

Free blister pack? Then it's worth buying them all. But us European and American/Canadian stackers didn't have the option.

The packaging is what allows the coins to rise above the ordinary coins, it is like an album cover, it gives the artist the opportunity to have a larger canvas to showcase the masterpiece.

That, and also having a unique number printed on the certificates is what makes Perth Mint one of the most highly sought after brands around the world, the Pobjoy and Franklin Mints can barely keep up!

spannermonkey, I understand the reasoning why the blister pack version is 'better'. Because it is rarer, and is supposed to increase in value greater than the coin without blister pack. I am not completely anti blister pack.

But for my personal collection, I am not bothered about the packaging, I am putting my coins in a tube anyway. I would prefer using the extra cost to buy more coins without the extra packaging.

Sure I would buy some in blister packs if I could, to then sell for a profit in the future, especially if they aren't selling for a premium compaired to the non blister carded ones at the moment, but I can't buy them, and I am not really bothered, I don't feel that I have missed out. The value of the coins without blister packs will still perform well IMO.

    wrong
    I've payed + $26 delivered for:
    a) BU coin
    b) with 10k mintage.
COA was just a bonus for me as I'm paying almost the same price for numis. Actually the big buy for me was the mintage limited to 10K not the COA or some card.

if they'd charge me additional $10 for capsule and certificate I'd tell them to go to look for someone else
if it would be box (and actually they could do it by ordering 1000 boxes from china for at max $3/ea) I'd understand paying $10, but for a card ... it's just too much.

the same masterpiece is on COA
the only part missing is the hole to put the coin into ))
all the rest is the same

P.S. don't compare some pobjoys to Perth ... Perth makes high quality stuff while those ... well, I have lots of doubts and try to stay away from them

All you need to do is to list down the completed selling prices of a carded koala versus a normal koala coin.

    End.

Normal koalas are minted to demand. So you can't compared a carded koala to a normal koala and say the same will be between the Stock horse coin and the stock horse in blister pack.

    are their mintage 9:1?

if yes I'm going to do it
and then make a correction to 5 carded coins vs 6 w/out card

if not then we should wait and see how horses perform
though it's going to take long

The real difficulty is finding a capsule the right size and shape to hold the carded coin. I have a few carded kookaburras from Downies but the corners of the cards are all dinged and bent, so basically just worth the same as the non carded variety.

I will not have a word said against any company who can come up with this...

Now that is a high relief coin, and check out the box for added awesomeness.
