So, in a forum that I used to frequent there was a special section for those toxic threads that always get created. It was called the troll box or quagmire or something similar, post into it would never appear in the new post search. After looking at the last part of that global thread I think I see a use for this here as well... In before anyone suggests that that is what the real estate section is for.
You write in the past-tense about this forum... i.e. you don't go there any more for a reason. Sucessful online communities are able to self-moderate, without the need for 'thunderdome' threads. Unfortunately this group has repeatedly shown it is unable to moderate itself.
So it's ok to post about some guy sh*tting in a garden and keeping his job, but not ok to post about the live export trade? Good work mods.
The reason has more to do with my changing interests than any particular problems with the forum, this method of contrainment rather than destruction was quite effective. This is why I recommended it. I believe both types of post would belong in the "trash can"
That would be me. Report the thread and I'll look - I don't get to read every thread anymore. The other thread was removed because of the religious comments.
Well, you could have just deleted the relevant section, no need to trash the whole thread. Its not as if it wasn't news worthy. Sorry, I said it made me angry.
Feel free to discuss live animal exports as long as it doesn't become a thread denigrating a religion. Happened twice in four posts, including the opening post of the thread.
OK, I understand you don't want religion brought into posts, but that is the reason there is a live animal export market in the first place. So I guess as it is a fundamental reason behind the trade, its going to be hard to host a discussion on the topic without mentioning the reasons behind it at some stage. Best play the three wise monkeys.
Stating that the trade exists because of religious reasons and denigrating the religion can be mutually exclusive ;p
Well that last thread about cattle didn't go too well >_> I didn't even get a chance to post about Kosher before it got closed
Well its like This. When you go to the GP cricket Stadium you play by GP's moderate Rules ,otherwise you take your bat and ball and play in another Stadium. REDBACK
