That seller is claiming a 200k mintage also, perhaps getting that from the same source as us. No reply from the Perth Mint, maybe there never will be.

There's thousands of original 1oz dragons in stock in Europe, priced EUR 52-59 (AUD 63-72).

Well in that case take heart from the opportunity cost that this presents the gouging dealers - you make money in billion by turning stock over as quickly as possible, not hiking prices and sitting on stock.

    hi all,
:( Just wanted to add if everyone decided to turn over stock at present, the 1oz dragon bullion with be $39 bullion price. we all know for a fact people paid alot more over bullion for these coins. Sigh i guess perth mint is still on a learning curb, When you produce to much of a good thing then its not going to a good thing anymore. People have to know the Perth Mint doesnt really look at the secondary market for the coins they produce, even thou they should. The perth mint is only interested how many coins it can turn over in a year.

Just give you an example. If someone in europe comes along and tells perth mint i want 200000 privy marked dragon coins at $30 each = $6,000,000 this is on a low end price. I dont think the Perth mint will say no to this. Screws the collectors but they still make money right???.

For dealers this 200000 privy mark coins is not good news.

    1. alot of agro customers complain when they come sell the 1oz silver dragons
    2. sales go down (eg customer comes in buys dragon $60, few months later sells back at $34???, will you buy again???) people will think twice.

I'm certainly gunshy when it comes later this year with the Snake, I'll be waiting to see how it unfolds and certainly wont be jumping in at the open.

I'll be sticking with the known winners, 1oz proof, 3 coin set and bullion (no weird privy and shit).

This time around with the dragon, I bought (excl. bullion) rectangular 4 coin set, typeset, 3 coin set, colored proofs, gilded, normal proof.

Managed to flip all of them for profit (except for one gilded which I'm sitting on) but wouldn't bother doing it again next year.

Far too risky as prices started to plummet quickly after release.

I'm buying one Bullion, two gilded and that's it. No more collecting Perth Mint products for me. They burned their bridges by being far to greedy for my liking.

Just had a look at the list of coins to 2014 and the snakes are definately going to be sold with the privy also, along with 7 other varieties of silver coins. I'm sure the list will grow.

Also states it has a circle enclosing a representation of a lion.

If it's true, it's just a shame they did this to the bullion version instead of the gilded or coloured ones.

Might be more value in buying the 2oz's in the future rather than the 1oz's if all this privy con is going to continue.

I'm still thinking it would be better to buy nothing from the Perth Mint.

^ I think you mean Ox but yes, it seems the guarantees of the Perth Mint to maintain the integrity of the Lunar Series are a sham.

Wait to they go back and remint all the gilded 1oz's out to a 300k mintage. I think they can do it but i'm not 100 percent certain.
