I was hesitant to go for any of the Norse Gods coins because so many different offerings came out around the same time, now I'm glad I didn't bother. These designs don't look very appealing to me, and the price definitely doesn't appeal to me LOL

Looks like they copied the Perth Mint box design.

You are right...Repeat after me: "Market saturation" .

I don't think they look that bad...but they would need to either lower the price (to less than $150/coin) and/or lower the mintage (to less than 1000) ...AND a 15- coin series is really pushing the limits ..one would need to fork out $2700 US for the entire series not including shipping costs!

    Cheers,
    Luker

Will these be accompanied by the infamous meteoric rise in Apmex pricing? ;)

Yeah, the art isn't half-bad. Bit cartoonish, but just the style. Nice younger Lizzie, too.

High-relief? Maybe if you blow up the image, then use the Apmex magnifier.

Not going to get any, but okay enough.

What I don't get about the recent pricey 2-oz & 3-oz coins like these are the diameter..

Come on, 39mm?? It might not sound like much, but at least extend it out to 45mm (15.5% increase) for more surface area to show off the design.

Makes that much more of a positive difference. Nobody cares about an extra thick coin. And would still fit in a standard slab for those slabbers.

I also don't like it....why all the same coins being released so fast....Its would be $2500 USD for the complete series....that's alot, to rich for me...

    or

$3300 CAD or $3500 AUD ouch!!!

Not to mention the apmex and Gainesville are both issued by Niue???

WTF is that about? I'll stick with the three oz Choice Odin, the only one that will rise above the rest.

Plus those apmex ones look awful

    Bingo +1000

Did all these guys call each other up and let each other know what they were doing. I mean how many Odin gods do we need!! Geesh

I agree with justfishing, the max high relief 3 oz is the best of all of them, IMHO. But I really want to see and touch that bad boy to see how it compares to my max, max, max high relief Chinese medals!! :)

Ditto here on the 3 oz Odin coin....it's the only ancient Gods coin I have purchased because it stands above the rest in a number of ways.

Apmex has made a lot of bad business decisions in the last year or two. Not sure I will place any more orders with them.

I haven't in a long time. Their prices are really high to boot, unless you catch them on a good day. #nothanks.

APMEX is now offering $40 off their price of $500 for the first three. The coins look really cartoonish.

Nah, $500 USD is still the same original price for the set of 3..

Saving $40 when compared to buying the 3 singles separately.

If you tried to sell those wonderful coins back to Apmex, you would probably get spot + $20 each and Gainesville spot + $4 each.
