Nanjing mints is the solely appointed official mints in printing RMB in China. They have achieved numerous technologies breakthrough. One of it is the patented nano-technology of 3D effect on thin notes.

Another technology breakthrough is the first tri-metallic medals of the Chinese Traditional Culture series Dragon and Phoenix which has sold out within few months. Mintage is 299, 45 mm as following photo. This is the first tri-metalic medal in China.

This tri-metalic medal does not use any industry glue in striking the medals which is common practise for the bi-metallic coins/medals. Nanjing mints has push their technology to maximum by developing new technique to strike the medal in tri-metallic without using any industry glue. In additional it is tri-metallic instead of bi-metallic. They are able to strike the 1 g silver (soft element of metal than brass and cooper) dragon ball (middle of the medal at dragon and phoenix side) to the brass and strike the brass and cooper on reverse and observe of the medal.

The video also show you it is striking process instead of using industry glue. The person try to force break the dragon ball with strength BUT fail.

We demand them to make another challenging breakthrough of the version 1 dragon and phoenix by striking 2 new versions of tri-metallic medal as following photo:-

Version 2 0.999 30 g Silver with design of "koi fish jump over dragon gate and transform into dragon as China Folk story" as photo below

Brass dragon and phoenix at reverse sides with copper dragon ball as photo below.

You will not appreciate and aware the technology breakthrough by viewing the medal photo. It need details explanation. Silver is soft element of metal which is very hard to strike and cast together with much stronger and hard metal like copper and brass. The first version of the tri-metalic is easy than the version 2 because it strike only 1 g silver soft medal into a massive hard surface and metal of brass. It is also strike both hard metals brass and cooper together. However, version 2 need to strike the massive surface of the soft metal of silver (koi fish side) with the massive hard metal surface of brass. Version 3 is more tricky and challenging.

From the above photo you can clearly see the silver is nicely strike with brass by using no industry glue at all.

VERSION 3 : 0.999 30 silver with design of dragon and phoenix with copper dragon ball
    as photo below:-

Brass is used at the design of "koi fish jump over dragon gate and transform into dragon as China Folk story" as photo below

Why version 3 harder to strike as comparing to version 1 & 2?

It combine the version 1 & 2 technology and face another challenging of strike the hard element of cooper which is the dragon ball to the soft element of silver of the design of dragon and phoenix.

The mintage of version 2 and 3 have a combine mintage of 199 in total which is 100 lower than the version one. The mint has made a lot test and trial medal in order to break through the technology and success in striking it. Numerous die have breakdown of minting the trial medal as show in the photo here. They have success and efficient in the technology now and ready for the minting. It likely will complete the minting in mid May if no production schedule delay and further breakdown or crack of the die.

Chinese Traditional Culture series Dragon and Phoenix Tri-metalic medal excellent technology highlights:

    1. A breakthrough advance technology of Nanjing Mints to cast and strike three different metals brass, copper and silver together tightly as showed in video instead of using industry glue which is common in practise.

    2. Generally the traditional mirror sandblasting process for 45 mm diameter high relief medal is around height of 0.5mm. However, Nanjing mint has made another high relief technology breakthrough of 3mm. Generally, the mirror sandblasting process must strike once rather than repeated numerous times. To make this happen for the Dragon and Phoenix Tri-metalic medal using the latest technology of three times casting and striking to merge the three metals by numerous dies' This is different technology with the classical garden since it is tri-metalic instead of one metal only.

    3. This is the first china tri-metalic medal not using industry glue and striking the silver which is soft element with the hard element of brass and copper with massive surface of silver. The first version of tri-metalic Dragon and phoenix medal which with Mintage of 299 is easier than version 2 & 3 even it is a technology breakthrough in the world.

This is really private rather than public information since we are selling.

We have good enough at this moment. Will grade majority of those medals and resell. Few omp will keep.

Personally I have 1 pair omp and 3 NGC graded.

The red coated version still available in market.
