The Pegasus coin above is really beautiful, but like all good UK coins very expensive.
I can only afford Swiss knock offs:

Since that is Frankencoin here is my favorite real money (1,000 Yen 20g .925):

    Yes, I own it. :)
It is my one and only denarius.

Prices vary hugely depending on condition and, if buying Roman imperial, the emperor, imperator, or Caesar as well. Julius is very expensive for a good condition one.

My coin (pictured), although in good condition, being a relatively unremarkable Republic denarius cost me about $130.
However, you can pick up OK coins for less. I have seen some go for $30 or $40 bucks.
They are quite small - smaller than a sovereign.

One of mine is the 1 ounce Ron Paul split Liberty Dollar Piedfort. The 2 half ounce rounds click together to make the one coin.
Mintage of only 5. Making them rare. The dies cracked before it could go into full production.

Amazing finding, except fingerprints. :) I'm really glad someone put coin from our "part" of the world. :)

Very nice coin. I've looked it yesterday when somebody on some other site pick it as most beautiful coin ever. :)

Mexican coins are really great. Probably much nicer than some more "well known" coins from other countries.

Amazing coin. I was waiting when some Norfed coin will appear. :) I will post mine in next few days. ;) Stay put! :) :p

Btw: if you plan to sell this someday drop the PM. ;) I'm very interested. ^^

At the moment I'm digging Libertads, Freedom Girl and the Dragon Privy Elephant. The 2012 pandas feel nice in the hand and look beautiful.

    More info:
    NORFEDpedia

There is many reasons why is this my favorite coin:
    - it' s NORFED (doh :) ).
    - it's big and heavy :)
    - it has 100($) on reverse.
    - it's quite rare.
    - it has interesting story behind it (like all NORFEDs - f**k the monetary system, etc.).
    - it's quite interesting how things complicated and I've almost think I wouldn't get it (soon).
    - and last, but not least:
"All men and women are created equal that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights that among these are life liberty and the pursuit of happiness and whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it and to institute a new government."

Words every man should know by heart.
