[imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/3949_0-australian-wedge-tailed-eagle-2014-silver-coin-reverse-1.jpg][/imgz] Out of all the high relief coins it seems this might be the only successful one so far. They have been selling online above issue. The first real proof success in a while. Still has a mintage of 10,000 but sold out everywhere already
These seem to be going well ebay now has them selling between 170-240, Anyone had any wins with this coin
Yeah, I love this coin. Based on current sales, I think your in the ball park, perhaps a little less. This coin sold out very quickly as did the gold 1oz which has also done extremely well. GovMint in the US also sells the 1oz proof ($99 USD) exclusively as well as a 5oz high relief (slabbed and signed - Mercanti). From what I understand the 5oz HR and the proof will be released in Aus around May. There is also a possibility of a bullion version. The timing and location for release of the Wedge-Tailed Eagle series is a bit of a mystery? I can see why Mercanti is the chief engraver for the US mint. The detail of his design works fantastically in high relief. I would love to see what he could do with our beloved Koala. So yes, I do belief this coin is well on the way to being one of the better ones and certainly the best iteration of an Australian bird I have seen on a coin.
