Apart from some tiny guys riding on the back of lunar 2014 animals there is something else happening tomorrow. Reminder to all that the Dragon Baby Proof comes out (as well as some others but this is the only one I'll be getting). Mintage of 4,000 and plain silver so I think this may be more popular than the coloured proof - just my opinion. Square set and carded Koala and some other stuff - link for full list http://www.perthmint.com.au/forthcoming-releases.aspx Maybe see some of you West Aussies there. Cheers
I've seen the year 2011 linked to this dragon release, does that mean it is part of the lunar series?
I thought it was a 7500 mintage. I must have really been seeing things that day i read the Post Office Order sheet, but i guess that could be wrong. I thought the 1/2 oz specimen coloured? coins were 48000 also. I was reading upside down and quickly though. What is the best way to see the new products come up on perth mint?, what time etc. I guess no one is going to give that away, just started worrying about proofs myself, so nothing i am really after anyway.
These dragon subsets are starting to give me a headache. Color proof, 1/2 proof, 9 coin Asian series, 5 oz color Asian series, baby dragon, color non-proof, regular proof, 3 coin proof, 4 coin typeset, etc Sigh
Interesting - it does say 2011 on the Perth Mint Website. I thought this was part of the Lunar Release but perhaps not. I'll check it out while I'm there tomorrow. Maybe not worth it after all. Thanks ThatGuy - will keep you all posted CHeers
2012 Silver Australian Lunar Year of the Dragon Proof Coins The design for the 2012 Australian Lunar Year of the Dragon (1kg, 2oz, 1oz and 1/2oz silver proof coins, features a representation of a dragon and a fireball. The coin includes the inscription 'Year of the Dragon' along with the Pinyin pictograph pronounced 'lng' and meaning 'dragon'. Maybe the 1/2 oz proofs and the 2 oz proofs?
The only one I would consider is the 4 coin rectangle set. More appealing to the overseas markets and only 3,000 mintage.
I find the colored dragon gold coin very ugly. The baby dragon remind me of the dragon in Shrek 1.
I'll be getting a couple of babies as they will sell out quick. 7500 mintage. It may not be the best looking coin around but i'm sure there will be heaps more than 7500 people around the world wanting to get one. Could be wrong. Maybe i should just get 1 and pump some more money into the Pamp dragons instead. Atleast the dragon looks better than the queen on some overseas coins. Canada get a new artist. Scorp
