Wow this is depressing!! Hadn't checked the local prices for a while. Did today.

I wish I'd bought while they were $12k. It's happening too quickly for my liking.

Soon they'll be $20k a box and that will break my heart.

    I'm devastated.

To put this into perspective, someone who isn't me bought two monster boxes, one for $11k and the other for $13k about 6 months ago.

$24k outlaid. Now worth $34k but they're crying not laughing.

So who's going to join me and yell, don't buy silver everyone. It's totally crap. Poor man's stuff. Junk. Buy a 3D TV or a personal massager. Whatever, just don't buy silver.

And JPMorgan what the heck are you guys doing? Get your fingers out and start manipulating man. I need more $10k monster boxes. You guys are pathetic lately.

I know what you mean intel. I always keep an eye on the maple and ASE monster boxes, when i was first looking, they were a touch under 12k and I remember thinking how crazy it would be to see them at like 15-16k! It just makes it harder and harder to justify when you remember what they used to be...

I'm crying because I want a monster box too. I just don't have one for bragging rights =D. I'm holding other stuff, I doubt I'll be chasing a monster box at these prices.

In April 2004 a sealed monster box of American Silver Eagles was selling for US$4,150.50 (I don't recall the shipping; under US$20 I am sure).
    Also that month:
    2004 Gold American Eagle 1oz coin - US$422.30
    2004 Australian Gold Kangaroo 1oz coin - US$433.23
    2004 palladium 1oz bars - US$246.35
    2005 1oz Kookaburras US$ 13.00
    2005 1oz gold Kangaroo US$ 451.88

Kook monster boxes only contain 300 coins = $34-$35 each.

I believe it's also not a nice plastic case like the ASE's/Canadian maples... just 3x100oz boxes.

Every coin has it's own plastic case...unlike the ASE's/Maples.

Silver is a tad bit over priced... a bit too fast. Just dollar cost average into it.
