Has anyone tried mining with Mining Rig Rentals (www.miningrigrentals.com)?

It seems a way to "dip the toe in the water" without committing to setting up your own rigs.

    Was it profitable?

I experimented with them when I was learning some of the basics. Found it was a good way to get a handle on mining coins with different mining pools and understanding what sort of hardware is used for what sort of hash algorithms.

But, profitability? No. The rentals are pretty much priced slightly above what you can get mining coins in the same time. Unless coin price/difficulty changes during the lease it'd be hard to turn a profit. I think mostly their market is for people who want extra hash power to heavily mine new or specialty coins.

If you're looking at them, have a look at www.nicehash.com too. Similar rented hash power market, but with a bidding process. With a big enough bid you can take over all the hashpower on the market if you want to hit a coin particularly hard.
