Does anyone have more info on the rarity of the Melbourne Mint 1926 Gold Sovereign?

In the older Golden Jubilee Edition of Marsh "The Gold Sovereign", it's noted as 'R' for rare

Then in my newer 2021 Second Revised Edition, the rating is now 'C' for common

What's also confusing is that the 2021 edition says the 1927 mintage was all dated 1926, but then the text says "there are quite a number of rarities in the Melbourne series: 1920, 1921, 1922, 1927 and 1928 are the rarest"

(How can you even tell if a coin is struck in 1927 if they were all dated 1926? Does that make the '1926' rare then, and why is it given only a 'C' rating. And besides, the 1926 mintage was only 211,107, 1927 was just 310,156)

So confused, what's the go with the Melbourne 1926? Is it actually "rare" or "common"

By the way I ask because I was lucky enough to pick one up recently

What is really rare from the Melbourne mint is a good quality 1920, 1921 or 1922 sovereign.
