Hi Everyone, Just wondering if anyone is holding any Medical or Health stocks in their portfolio at the moment. I can only see these companies growing quite rapidly as the Australian population - Baby Boomers and Gen X get older and older. Ive been researching a few companies and would like your thoughts or experiences:- AVH - AVITA MEDICAL LTD - develops regenerative medicine (spray on skin) & respiratory products - just broke into Chinese market and currently awaiting FDA approval in the US BKL - BLACKMORES LIMITED - natural health products RMD - RESMED INC - medical device manufacturing SHL - SONIC HEALTHCARE LIMITED - provision of pathology services PRY - PRIMARY HEALTH CARE LIMITED - service company that provides medical services & day surgery operator CSL - CSL LIMITED - develops\ manufactures pharmaceutical diagnostic products & human plasma etc I think a couple of these would provide steady returns and some would be purely speculative stocks but see them as a good diversification in a portfolio. Anyhoo, I await your responses P.S. Apologies GP if Ive gone off topic here, just thought it would be a good topic to discuss.
CSL is a staple in my opinion i always have it as part of my core. Also check out MSB i've had them before great company i'm really just looking for a new entry point.
Hi, here's my unmethodical list of healthcare stocks, a few of which match yours. I use the Skaffold valuation program and have marked with an asterisk the ones that Skaffold currently rate as highest quality. I don't hold any of them and won't be either unless their share prices halve. Being regarded as defensive, and paying dividends, all these stocks without exception have been bid up to over-priced levels - most grossly so (COH, SRX, ONT, SHL, RHC). Also PRY, on your list, is rated A4 and 63% over valued according to Skaffold. COH - Cochlear* CSL - CSL Limited* RMD - Resmed SHL - Sonic Health SRX - Sirtex* RHC - Ramsay ONT - 1300 SMILES Ltd* ANN - Ansell Ltd BKL - Blackmores* http://www.skaffold.com/
