I was given an edition of Australasian Coin and Banknotes for Xmas 2010. It featured an article about the double bar on the 1966 silver fifty. It would be nice to have repository of links for mags about our favourite metals So to kick it off, here is a link to ACB, for reference next time you have a few minutes to kill and you fancy a lurk at the newsagent. http://www.cruzis-coins.com/Grading/mag2.html
That article, if its the one I'm thinking of was written by Alan Flint of Universal Coin Co. I was chatting to him while he was putting it together. They are located in Centre Place in Melbourne, where GoldDiggers used to be.
Any links to that particular article, as I have been looking for it to check some 1966, 50's that I have.
If you are in reasonably sized urban centre, suggest you try calling the public library/checking their catalogue I can't find a link to the mag even though it is a good'un. There was a good article on the Libra solidus denarius denotation (oddly enough, L.s.d.) for pounds, shillings and pence, in that edition too. libra = pound (hence the symbol for pound, ) solidus = shilling denarius = penny, before decimalisation (dwt = pennyweight) a pennyweight o'gold is 1/20 troy oz
