Have now just got back from meeting him & his wife. Got 100 @ $11each. His wife had the coins & took the fiat. I feel Happy.................. Guy also has 8 x $10 state coins .925 Shop person would pay $15 I said I would pay $18 Will get back to him after Easter. Will look @ flipping the 50c here.
Hardly crossing a thin line. It's more like an auction. Boneyard was prepared to pay more than the dealer in the shop, the seller was happy with the price - so it has been sold. edit: Boneyard, let me know when you're thinking of selling the 50s
ah true, I just re read the thread. I got confused with another topic where someone approached a customer PRIOR to entering the store.. my bad.
I think that I just had a 'Sliding Doors' moment - seriously! I'm genuine. Was boneyard's post above posted somewhere else on this site? Because i think that i read this before today but i can't find evidence of it and it is doing my head in. I didn't read it this morning then forgot as i was not online at 10.58am. I'm confused. I need to know so can you please help me boneyard?
I think somewhere on the kitco forums. Thought I read it somewhere before too. Thats why i remember ppl arguing about whether what the op did was in good taste.
was it that guy opposite La Cuisine? He was charging 12 a piece (and grubby at that), when Sydney enjoyed 7.50 in the shops. A spread like the Grand Canyon.
Coin shops are not the place to sell silver coins of any description. However I have been able to buy many coins at below spot . One of the reasons for this I believe is that if the price of silver jumps say from $35 to $40 the coin merchant dosen't have the time to change the price on every coin in the shop. He always misses a few and then is the time to pounce. The owner of the coin shop I have been dealing with for the 3years has been very good to me as he knows that I am strictly a stacker and often he has pointed out coins I may be interested in. Last week I spied 6 coins that were $2 over spot. As Silver has risen $3 since last week, the first place I will look for Is the price still the same? If it is I will buy there and then. However times are getting a lot harder for SS. One buyer came into the shop about 2weeks ago and bought $4,700 worth of coins and cleaned out a hell of a lot of coins. It will be of extreme importance that anyone new to buying silver learn quickly about as many silver coins as possible even from o'seas. Regards Errol43 PS that does not mean the dealers on this site
Was lurking around a coin shop today. Picked up another 1oz proof dragon and a 1/2oz proof dragon. Same price as last week. Also the numbers are back to back with last weeks pair. The shop keeper said, it was the same guy that sold. I told him, if he gets them in again call me =D. Slam
