So technically this is probably as much of a vent as it is a 'please keep your eyes open'.

Basically some items have gone missing from my house. Have recently had the kitchen redone, and some other small work, so have probably had about 6-8 different tradies through there, but there is also the potential they were accidentally thrown out as there was lots of cleaning up and clearing out going on.

Kicking myself as I make sure not to keep any of my metals around, but these were kind of just a fews odds and ends that I had on hand as they didn't fit in with my stack. Basically it was

3x Mint rolls of $2 Remembrance (green)
3x Mint rolls of $1 2014 mob of roos
    3x 20 for 20 pound St George
    5x 20 for 20 pound Britannia
    1x Carded 1oz Roo (I think it was 2008

So yeah, the 20 pound coins in particular might be a bit rarer around these parts, so if anyone is offered those exact amounts it might be of interest to hear about it. They might also be in the tip, so happy hunting.

Yeah, kind of feels like one step forward two steps back at the moment. In a weird way, seeing all the devastation this crazy weather has been bringing has put my "loss" in to a bit of perspective, but still pretty annoyed.

Nothing could ever be proved ,even with this exact list you posted being used at auction.
This is the beauty and the downside of bullion and numismatic collections.
Unless you have a ultra rare coin of say 50 then you can never ever prove ownership.
Sorry for the loss , but they are gone for ever if stolen.

Oh yeah not really holding hope of ever retrieving them. Would be nice to discover what/who actually happened just out of curiosity, but of course nothing can be done in terms of retrieval.

beef up security if I was you, if a tradie is so inclined to lift a few items they are more than likely to have a few friends who would like to break in and see if there is more to be found.
When miners find gold in an area they look for more and will do so more aggressively, thieves are no different

Ok so some good news! Turns out mum was over and decided she didn't like the coins where they were (at my place) and she relocated them to her place! I did ask initially about them and she said she remembered seeing them at my place! In the end it clicked and she rang me to say she had found them at her place! Pretty relieved I must say, but all the points about security raised here are legit also.

The total value of all that was around $700 but i think for peace of mind I might not even keep that much on hand long term, occasionally if I make a purchase it might hang around for a week, but these have been here months and months which is obviously not ideal!

edit: My memory was off too, it was a 2009 roo!

well as I wasnt 100% sure I did clearly state that it very well may not have been the case that they were stolen. Thanks for the concern though Chip, I can see why you are so well liked around here.

    Lucky:)
And certainly no apologies needed as the way i read your post it was only ever " MAYBE" they had been stolen and there was an equally good chance you had thrown them out.
Talk to your father and make sure he dishes out a good bare bum spanking n her for you.
Now with that said , you are going to have some disturbing dreams.
No need for a think you , tis my pleasure, (or is that what mum and dad will say?)
