Hey guys, hoping someone could help. I am looking for a gift for a 21st for someone, and was thinking a 5oz coin is perfect for them, but I don't know anything about coins other than getting as close to spot as possible. I'd be going for a lunar dragon but would really like it to be with A BOX for display/prettiness purposes. I know having a box is more of a numismatic thing, but I can't justify paying almost triple spot price as I want this to be an investment for the individual Something with a little more thought than money. So basically a nice bullion coin with a display box if that is possible? If anyone could point me in the right direction! Thanks for your time.
Or maybe a 2 oz proof kookaburra from 1990 (first year of the kooks) which if I can count correctly would be the year of their birth - they usually come in a nice presentation box / case.... just a thought...
1. Buy a 1oz bullion coin on SS or other place. 2. Buy a coin case from say ozbullion for $10. 3. ??????? 4. Profit!
What about the roo at sunset? Kinda small but ticks the boxes that you mentioned proof presentation case animal....
If its for a girl dude make sure she loves coins or is into coin collecting. cause chances are they won't get it. My personal choice would be to go to a jeweler and ask them to make a sterling silver necklace for that person. 2 to 3 ounces would look and feel great i reckon. Another thing you can get her the pamp suisse Icon bars they are simply amazing available in both gold and silver.
year 1990 is horse for chinese lunar (same around the world) and you can have this for 70 bucks (include express) fresh water pearl bracelet(all pink pearl) [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/2281_img_0017.jpg][/imgz] [imgz=http://forums.silverstackers.com/uploads/2281_img_0019.jpg][/imgz]
Only get her a coin if it is of her favorite animal or somehow matches her hobby. For example, I would buy a philharmonic for my brother as he is a music person. If you buy a coin just for investment sake then it isn't going to be a hit present, especially if she is only 21 and not heavily investment focussed. Presents don't need to make good business sense
Last year at a friend's seudo-wedding celebration I gave a 1oz 2010 Kookaburra as a gift, just the bullion coin in its plastic capsule and not in a box or anything (I was a bit cash-strapped at the time). Just want to give something a bit more precious than a gift voucher or toaster They're not stackers or investors, but they really did appreciate the thought when I asked them about it last month. I also told them that the same coin would cost almost double the price of what I paid for it due to the spot price
In addition to a silver coin (whichever you choose), you can also consider getting a book like "How to Invest in Gold and Silver: A beginne... " (or you can check out a suitable book from the Bookshop section of this forum (http://www.silverstackers.com/portal/index.php/bookshop).
Mate If you go to the perth mint shop website and look at the gifts/jewellery section on the top right hand side i think, they have some nice ss shilling bracelets and other things, or maybe feebay search? I know we went to prouds like 2 months ago and got some freshwater pearl bracelets for $10 each...FRESHWATER that is..... PROUDS that is.....
well mate I have to say if prounds sell 10 bucks ea for an real bracelets then I am glad purchase all of them, cheers. I take this thing to our local jeweler shop they would pay 45 bucks to buy it. 10 bucks's bracelets only for kids, teddy bear priced 20 bucks at least already and you still think 10 bucks to get real pink pearls?
