It is better to have loved and lost, than to have ever loved and married.

Is the coin to be melted to make the ring? and are you choosing the US coin for its gold color?
could you make the ring from 22ct scrap? or is the ring your making going to be 999.
    best wishes

im looking to turn the coin into a coin ring, so keeping the detail on both sides as the rings design - i love the $5 gold indian with the stars but its too small for my finger size being a 1/4 oz coin

Looking at using a $10 indian or something like that

For marriage, you will need a coin that is at least 1 kg, after all it is going to have to go around your ankle or neck. Are you going make the chain and ball out of gold as well? This could prove an expensive excercise!! :)

Don't scare him before the wedding, let him find out the same way the rest of us did.

PS: @ SA bogan...are we invited, we can have our ss meet at your wedding....I'm sure we can put together a nice package of round fifties for a wedding gift ;)

A single man is incomplete. Once he's married, he's finished.

If he finishes up in the Family Court, he'll have bugger all gold after that no matter what weight he had before.
