When doing stacking business is there an appropriate time in a transaction to disclose your location to the other party? At the start of negotiations? Before price is agreed on? After agreed price to calculate postage and other charges? After $$ have cleared or seller agrees to post? While we're at it, should a members location under their avatar be reality based?
I say after a price is agreed on and the seller is happy to sell at that price, that's when you should give details out.
At the start of negotiations so buyer knows what postage charges they are up for before committing. This can make a material difference - especially for small purchases.
I think when you ask for the total cost including postage to your location. If you are negotiating free postage then that is also the time to mention it not agree to free postage and then tell them you are on another continent. Re avatars location, don't really care. It would be nice if the basic info was the State and they could nominate a locn if they chose. Their personality could therefore be expressed in the avatar and footer. But it doesn't bother me.
