    Hi Stackers,

To begin with, the minimum purchase will be $350 and maximum purchase will be $6000 of value. Please consider the following as a guide when considering a payment plan. If you can't commit to this, don't enter an agreement.

    Purchases $500 - $2500
25% deposit and remaining balance paid over 4-6 weeks max.

    Example for $1500 purchased
    Deposit 25% = $375
    Weekly payment 4 weeks = $281.25
    Weekly payment 5 weeks = $225.00
    Weekly payment 6 weeks = $187.50

    Purchase $2501 - $6,000 maximum
25% deposit and remaining balance paid over 6-8 weeks max.

    Example for $6,000 purchased
    Deposit 25% = $1,500
    Weekly payment 6 weeks = $750
    Weekly payment 7 weeks = $642.86
    Weekly payment 8 weeks = $562.50

Each deal will be different. Once the item is chosen and price locked in we will figure out the timeframe that suits you and actual payments either weekly or fortnightly.
I always base my price on kitco spot and also refer to local bullion suppliers with similar products. If you find available stock online somewhere I'm happy to use that price as a guide. If the stock is sold out their price isn't relevant.

I will provide my contact number and an email address for a 2nd contact.

I'm sure there will be more things to discuss to get the deal started so check my listing's and let's make a deal.

Not saying this is a good or a bad idea, just thinking that if you're not going to keep the payments that have already been made, and I agree that's the right thing to do. If the price does crash a significant amout, someone could just stop making payments get a refund of past payments and buy silver with the same money at a lower price.

These comments were posted by me on the original item thread at the conclusion of what I believe is the first of MDMD’s lay-bys. He has asked me to repost them here so they remain visible, which seems entirely reasonable.

“So I was MDMD’s layby Guinea pig I think.

“Everything about this was easy and smooth … he communicates very well and looks for ways to make the arrangements work for both parties, rather than just himself. Everything happened exactly as we agreed and the bars were shipped on the next working day (excellentlypackaged, and tracked with signature). Honestly, if you’re looking at lay-by this experience suggests you couldn’t go wrong with MDMD.”

Please feel free to message me if you need further info. Andrew

    Hi Stackers,

I have been settling into a new job over the past few months so I have been quiet on this forum. Please note there may be small delays in responding due to restrictions during work hours and actual working hours (4.30am - 2.00pm).

I'm still offering laybuy/payment plan option. I'll post a list later today.

Always happy to sell something (silver as I don't have any gold) to assist your stacking journey.

    Thanks for looking.

    Regards Michael

Just a couple of things I'd ponder if i was considering an offer such as this.

So I proceed in good faith and without prejudice or bias of any kind.

Firstly, it IS a great idea and could appeal to a range of members.

Secondly, I am sure members would be reassured to know whether @MDMD operates within the framework of Australian Consumer Protection Laws.

Both buyers and sellers have protections and obligations under these laws which makes it a lot safer for both parties.

And from left field; is the legal owner or administration of https://silverstackers.com in any way liable or responsible for comments, activities or offers displayed on this website?

Ive been a member of this forum for several years and value it highly.

So please know I am coming from a good place.

    All the best, Alf (swoydaz).

PS: some know I have an acquired brain injury and take ages to write a post like this. I re read, edit, re read and edit until the cows come home.
So please forgive, and kindly let me know of any slip ups.

    Hi Alf,

    Thanks for your comments.

I'll be straight up. I don't know the framework of Australian Consumer Protection Laws but I do know to treat people the way I would like to be treated. Open and honest communication are first and foremost in how I operate, it's as simple as that. I stand by my words and stand by my deals (buying or selling).

I have been a member of this group long enough and have learnt so much over the years on how to do transactions in this group in an ethical manner.

If u have a specific question or concern please ask.

I honestly don't know if any transactions in this group are covered by consumer protection. My understanding it it's a private group and your deals are private (I may be wrong).

I don't know the answer to your question about admin being responsible for comments or activities in this group but I can say 100% that I am responsible for my transactions here and no liability falls on admin in relation to my deals.

I don't believe there was any slip ups in your communication.

    Thanks again for reaching out.

    Kind regards Michael

    Cheers, Michael.

Thank you for having the decency and honesty to reply so soon, and so well.

    Nice!

I'm an older bloke who has learned some of his lessons the hard way.

In some cases this was at horrendous cost, both personally and financially.

I would never want anyone to learn the way I have, which is why I bobbed up here.

May I point to a couple of things that I believe to be well worth knowing and /or doing?

    • Grab a hold of any official documentation regarding AUSTRAC.
    • Even ask AI for help by way of summaries.
    • In fact I've done that for you. Here is what AI had to say:
"Yes, I'm familiar with AUSTRAC — it's the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre. AUSTRAC is Australia's financial intelligence agency and anti-money laundering (AML)/counter-terrorism financing (CTF) regulator.

Here’s a quick overview of what AUSTRAC does:

    Primary Role:
AUSTRAC’s main job is to detect and prevent money laundering, terrorism financing, and other serious financial crimes by monitoring financial transactions and ensuring compliance with the law.

    Who Must Comply:
Entities that handle financial services must register with AUSTRAC and follow strict rules. This includes:

    • Banks and credit unions

    • Money remitters and currency exchange services

    • Digital currency (crypto) exchanges

    • Casinos and gambling services

    • Bullion dealers

    • Lawyers, accountants, and real estate agents (in some limited cases)
    Key Responsibilities for Businesses:
    1. Register with AUSTRAC (if providing designated services)

    2. Know Your Customer (KYC) – verify customers’ identities

    3. Report Transactions, such as:
      • Suspicious matters

      • Cash transactions over AUD $10,000

      • International funds transfers
    4. Maintain AML/CTF Programs – detailed internal compliance systems

    5. Regular Audits – AUSTRAC can inspect or audit businesses
    AUSTRAC's Broader Role:
    They also share intelligence with:

    • Australian Federal Police (AFP)

    • Australian Taxation Office (ATO)

    • Australian Border Force

    • International partners (e.g., FATF, FinCEN in the U.S.)
If you need info on a specific area like money exchange businesses, digital currency regulation, how to register, or compliance requirements, I’d be happy to help with that too".

    Handy, hay!

With this great idea of yours you could perhaps be considered to be a "bullion dealer" ... I don't know. But that is worth looking into I reckon.

I would also talk with your bank, your accountant and/or trusted financial advisor.

Most of this shouldn't cost a great deal, if anything at all.

Once again wishing you all the best.

    Cheers, Alf

If you want protection go and buy on ebay and such. All sales are private on this forum does not matter how it is done. His offering is very kind and Im sure he already helped some members with positive outcome.I think if Im correct all the buyers who take up his offer basically using his money as I dont think he charges any interest. If my comment is not appropriate just delete it:)
