I have an opportunity to purchase some krugerrands that are pcgs graded for $1400 maybe less each now this sounds too good to be true. I wanna know if they are faked whats the chances that they are fake if they are in the graded cards Is there anywhere on the southside of brisbane that can check them before i buy Cheers for any help
Yes they are faked Why somebody would get a kruger graded ? And sell it below spot :/ What do you think ? Wouldn't touch them
If on eBay and the seller is certified for buyer protection (not all sellers are), than you are covered. if fake you can return it worst case might take few months to get the money back. But make sure you ask all the questions via eBay messaging,, like is the photo of the listing the actual item you are getting etc. If f2f you really need to have it verified.
Thanks for the heads up people Yeah this is through a client of mine its a acquaintance of theirs that's apparently been collecting for years and needs to raise some cash the only reason why it was mentioned is that he paid in silver kooks one day as he didn't have money in the bank. I might go check them out and see if i can get them tested before handing over any cash
Still doesn't answer the question why somebody would sell gold below spot Especially if they have been collecting for years Still smells to me ,I don't buy the story
not everyone follows spot movement, especially elderly.and some just does not have any idea.... and I think it was discussed before there is no such thing as spot...correct me if Im wrong
Most people who hold gold know what it's worth Maybe not todays prices but yesterdays at least And so what are you saying Spot is irrelevant when selling ?
I looked at that ad too and sellers has some other nice gold coins with the right price tag attached so go figure dont forget how many people go in CC and sell their gold coin ,bar or jewellery.
The artwork is rubbish that looks more like a kangaroo than Paul Kruger. A fake is a fake is fake with or without a fake slab.
Totally agree! Unbelievably awful fake! Newbies should go to this site below to get a basic understanding of what to look for when buying Krugerrands! https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&...EdYKMXT_n_YvPlw2g&sig2=lPkod244xePIYq11xXJ-Hw
The lustre doesn't look right, for the grading. MS 64 & PR 68 both looks the same lustre. No visible like natural gold coin, should have some texture on the ms coin.
I would worry about buying a Krug off you if that's how you gauge the authenticity of a Krugerrand. Just look at Kruger's face! There's no need to go any further!
