Hi everyone, I have been reading for a week, trying to learn what I can and thought it was time to say hello So much to learn, so little time. Yet to make my first purchase to start my collection, have been trying to find a local trade on the Gold Coast ( Aussie post scares the hell out of me) but not much going on here. A couple of local members have been very friendly and helpful in messages, so I am optimistic I will be on my way to stacking in no time. Well, back to the study.
Welcome. I have never lost anything through Aus Post, granted I have only had about 20 or so trades but nothing lost so far. A few of the Gold Coast mob make it to the Brisbane Stackers meetings, plenty to trade and see there.
Thank you for the warm welcome Is there normally insurance taken when items sent or does everyone just take the risk? Is there a preference for registered post/ express post / platinum post. Etc ? It's good to hear that no one seems to have had anything go missing I guess ill just have to go with the flow and overcome my apprehension Plenty of great info on the site, it's slowly starting to make sense Seems to be a lot of nice and helpful members here
Welcome My only issue with Australia Post at the moment is that my local sub-contractor isn't fulfilling their contract. That is, they don't leave "you have registered mail" cards, the last Platinum Post was literally thrown onto my door step. They didn't even get a signature !!! GRRRR
Postage options = http://forums.silverstackers.com/topic-11817-fishball-s-guide-to-australia-post.html Risk should be discussed before posting, you can go for 50/50, seems fairer, if the item goes missing = half refund Can't insure coins, money or precious metal. They will insure metal samples but good luck claiming!
